‘Kick point’ is a rather unclear term for describing the bend performance of KBS steel. The term suggests any particular golf shaft has a singular apex point where the shaft flexes. It does not take into consideration the unique tubular design that produces a controlled bend during a players swing and, ultimately, delivers exceptional performance.
With KBS, the shaft’s bend profile is determined by the unique proportionality of wall-thickness that increases gradually from butt to tip. The design is often compared with performing like a whip during a players swing.
Still, the bend profile on the KBS does have an apex at the mid to high point in the shaft which works to produce the mid to low ball flight. The bend profile concept is a major contributor to the preferred ball flight and dispersion performance KBS is known for.
